The record for début making at Sheffield is 9 in 1984 and 1994, while in 2006 Barry Hawkins was the only one.
do you know what the average number of debutants per year is? is it close to the middle of the two extremes?

Wenbo also closes his match with a century, completing a 10-5 vicory over McCulloch to book his crucible place.

Well we've had 168 players appear in 31 years, so that works out at just under 5½ a year.

If you discount the 16 who appeared in 1977, then that's 152 in 30 years which is virtually 5.

                Stevens looking solid at 9-5.

Swail in familliar territory : 2 down with 3 to play. If anyone can stage a comeback from here its him.

I hope Matthew will have a good WC. He usually does well at the Crucible. But I doubt he will go all the way.

                        Great victory for Wenbo!!

It was always going to be close. Judd had a chance to win 10-7, but now it's 9-9. will Joe's experience in winning final frame deciders see him through?
