Last time I witnessed vintage Hendry was at The UK against Dott in the semis 2006. First time I saw him live and was a real treat. But also clear he could not keep it on in the final where he faltered to a mediocre level. Think thats the crunch, he cant perform his best form for the full 17 days. Just the odd good match nowadays, mixed with below par performances. Pity though.
BTW I hope he will go through to the second round and meet Ding, where he will stand a chance. Stephen should play on Dings mental side of the game. Higgins did that in Wales and Ding completely lost it (once more).

I went for Stephen Maguire but maybe we should look for those credited with about 150/1 chances to win...

So Mags but Selby and Murphy look very strong too.

Me thinks Selby will win. If not, then maybe Smurphy, who has then beaten him in the quarters. Everything else would be a surprise in my opinion.

Perry aint a bad bet either. He has been in a crucible quarter final and to UK Semis one of which he should have won. I may have a cheeky pound on him.

I put a bet on Stephen Maguire. He's red hot this season and I'd really like to see him crowned. But I think either Shaun Murphy or Mark Selby has really good chances too.

This frame is crucial. 7-5 and he's right back in the mixer

My top 4 favourites starting from the most likely to lift the tittle :

                              1. Stephen Maguire.
                              2. Ronnie o Sullivan
                              3. Shaun Murphy.
                              4. Mark Selby.
