  • Postcard from Sheffield – Day 3

    Afternoon all.

Well it's been an interesting weekend here at the Crucible. An attempted maximum from Matthew Stevens in the third frame of the championship, and this morning another by Michael Judge.

The weekend started in a bizarre fashion for us. Staying at the university, the fire alarm went off in the block at 4:45 on Saturday morning. Unperturbed we made our way bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for the opening of the event!

Two deciders yesterday, Ali Carter and Peter Ebdon having lucky escapes into the second round.

A quick visit to the box office yesterday morning, enquiring about returned tickets for the final session of the final, proved again that you never know your luck – they had one available and I snapped it up. PaulTheSoave, we can discuss the commission payable!

After a cold day of cloud and, yesterday, drizzle, I am pleased to report the first bout of sunshine here in Yorkshire.

Not a lot more to say just now – at least, not that I can fit on the back of a postcard! So I'll say cheerio for now, and...

    Wish you were here!
