so Ali Carter will end up just a mere 99 points behind Stephen Hendry on the 2 year list(baring a final win of course).

That provisional list is rather interesting (blue should have been on Perry though). Good top 16. Robertson didn't do all to well this season, did he, but then he is bunched with a row of players in similar point group.
Mark Williams in rather good position.
Graeme worst fate of all previous top 16 players

So what it all boils down to is, if Ali carter wins the world title means hendry will be ranked number 8 again and wont be invited to pot black because ken doherty won it last season. (he will get an invite as he is defending champion is now out of the top 8) so he and the top 7 go through...

ronnie might be doing us hendry fans a favour by winning this world championship now after all

I dont think Pot Black would be too big a concern for Hendry TBH

I'm sure He'd rather have the assurance of not having to meet another top 8 player until the QFs, which he will secure with a top 8 place.

          i agree with Danny

although being invited to PB will amke most folk happy, consider what his feelings would be like now had Mark Allen not bottled it and Hendry held his nerve well to clinch a great match. (not a dig at Allen - i think hes great!)

work out what the rankings would look like if Hendry lost to Allen and Allen got beat off ROS in the semifinal

          doesnt look great eh?

so in the grand scheme of things im sure hes quite satisfied, and PB will be a bonus if it happens

Just occured to me that ROS will likely decline his pot black invite as he did last year - thus making an additional space available for the lowest ranked player.

if hes not thrown out of all comps following the hearing anyway....

I agree what your saying, i was simply stating the fact that todays final has a big say in weither he is to play the PB tournament or not.

So it will be only likely be a bonus only if ROS wins tommorow.

i wasnt disagreeing. i was just stating that where he was 2 weeks ago WRT 1 year and 2 year lists, especially during the match, hed take what hes achieved and anything else is a bonus that he wont be too bothered about, though hed gladly be asked

                      2 Stephen Maguire 45526
                      3 Shaun Murphy 45050

                      6 Neil Robertson 35350
                      7 Stephen Hendry 34275

                      8 Allister Carter 80000 34176
chasmmi, there's a mistake here: Hendry is prov. #6 now, not 7th. He' goes after Higgins (37925), and Robertson is 10th with his 32,950 points.

It's already done, though in a strange way: there's the list of players in order according to the current prov. ranking, without points.
