I saw him on Sunday as well, so he might be. Also I'm certain he's been on here before.

Just found his name is James Lawless, and here is his account.

I know who you mean as well. He always stands up between frames to stretch his legs and have a good look around to see whats going on. :snooker:

There used to be a guy who attended every session at the Crucible for years and years and always had the same seat on the front row. I believe he passed away a few years ago. He struck a resemblance to the late actor/comedian, Mike Reid (Frank Butcher in East Enders)

yepp ive seen him on loads of recordings of finals, and a few years ago they spoke about him in one afternoon an interval on bbc2.. If hes the same guy he wore thick rimmed glasses in the early 1980,s.

Yeah he sat on the corner seat on the right hand table, next to where they put the trophy. Sometimes he'd get shifted to the second row on finals night when all the dignitaries had the front row seats. They'd only watch a couple of frames though and then go and sup free champagne in the hospitality lounge. Baaaaaa

Does anyone remember the bloke who used to all the midweek sessions through the 90s and early 00s who used to wear the WolverhamptoN Wanderers football shirt. He was at all the early sessions but lesser seen as the tournament progressed. Not seen him for a few years now though...

There's a guy there who never seems to miss a session,he used to wear a long pony tail.He cut that off a couple of years ago.He generally sits in the camera position, just behind the players' seats.Could that be who you're on about Stu?Maybe a member on here.

Nope - he always always without fail wore a Wolves FC football shirt. i remember that he used to be on the side, Table 2 half of the arena, but for the last few years before he dissappeared moved around a fair bit.

Just wondered if anyone remembered him?!?

There is also the guy with the large haircut unless that was who you were talking about in the 1st post.

There seems to be an Eastenders lookalike as well who is there for most sesssions. Not forgeting TheStatman and KellieText a few rows further back.

That guy with the thick rimmed glasses who use to sit with his wife just behind the trophy had originally been coming to the championship since 1978. He told me this when i was at the Crucible back in 1997 sitting down waiting to for the 10am session to start. Cant remember his name now!
