He's personally sponsored by 888.com, right? Maybe they'll make up the difference if he can get another one

Is it right that Ali is the first who made a maximum without having previously won a tournament? It´s written on wikipedia, but I don´t believe everything on there

So if Ronnie were to make another, would he get two-thirds of the prize money?

Seems only fair. He had his heart set on that Bentley.
Ronnie said he was going to insure against someone else making a 147. Hope he got it arranged in time!

Andrew Higginson hasn't won a tournament but has a 147. Nick Dyson has two 147s with no win either. Never trust wiki.

How bizarre is this - on the bus home at 8pm tonight I was leafing through this year's programme and was reading bits about Carter "he hopes to swap 147s for 747s soon as he qualifies as a commercial pilot" and I looked at his high break and though "but he isn;t swapping 147s for 747s cos he's never made one and then a couple of hours later this happens! Ali and ronnie used to be practise partners as well, so it's all very neat

Probably the hardest black potted to complete a 147. Wonder if Carter gets called a Genius and a magician for that 147, I doubt it. Really delighted with how much it meant to him and a great celebration

Oh well, how about Ali making another against Ronnie in the final? That would make some sense

I was also impressed to see how Ebdon celebrated the 147 almost as if it was himself who had done it. I guess he must have been a little disappointed though.

Yes, Ebdon is a real gentleman and a true sport. He was obviously genuinely happy for Carter, which was nice to see.

Especally considering how he missed out on one himself just minutes before.

Fantastic break it was, and look how happy he was! No wonder, this was his first 147!
Actually, there was 2 in the 2000 Regal Scottish open, Maguire in the qualifying round, and O'Sullivan at the final stages.
It was made in the same arena with just a few days between them (so its not like those where someone makes one in the qualifiers, and then someone knocks one on a few months later in the final stages)
