According to Bluesq Paul Hunter has better odds than Alan McManus. Just shos how poor Alan is really when a player who wont even be there this season is fancied more than good old Alan.

There's a fair chance none of these come in though Kid. I've never seen a poor bookie

That must make Graeme Dott close to being the longest odds a defending champion has been for winning the WC.

If Paul Hunter is(as hoped) feeling up for it in the new year, will he be able to enter the world championship as a non-playing member of the WPBSA. I know that they have a qualifying section for these members before the main tour begin?

Well there was a bookie in the entrance hall of the Bournemouth International Centre during the Mercantile many years back. They obviously had an inexperienced newby on the desk, who was, for one particular match, offering odds of 6-4 on both players.

I don;t have a magnificent undersanding of bookmaking, but this seemed a bit odd to me... ?

I think (I hope) that this season's WC will see a return to normality and not produce a third consecutive WC where a nobody wins it.

I think Ronnie will win next year, he is the best over the longer distance and would have won the last 2 WC if it hadn't been for Ebdon's go-slow and cue tip problems.

The only 2 challengers I can see are Ding (will be his debut and too early for him) and John Higgins, but he has underachieved at the crucible for many years now.

                              Not anymore Cessmeister

He is a spent force, Ronnie with a dodgy tip beat him last year.

                                We'll see. I think he'll have a good year.

Your right about Higgy, he's certainly due one,,,then again, so's Jimmy
