For me John Higgins is an enigma of the WC.

When he won in 1998 many people, myself included, thought he would go on to dominate the championship, but he hasn't won again. Albeit he got close and it took 2 great performances by Mark to beat him in the semis of 1999 and 2000 and then a brilliant Ronnie beat him in the final in 2001. Since then he hasn't done much.

I thought he might win last year but he lost in the first round!!!

Jimmy? Cessy, you really think that at this sort of form he is good enough to win it?

If Jimmy White ever wins the world title, I will insert a marrow up my bottom I think I'm safe there.

                Me too kid...

The 1992 world final still ranks as the biggest diasappointment in my life. I was convinced he would win after making the 147. I will never be as disappointed as that again simply because now I am cynical and don't get my hopes up

Peter Ebdon looks like a good player to put a few pounds on..

How is he 25/1 when Maguire is 20/1?

What if Jimmy would get the hump and accelerate. 250/1 seems a nice little earner. The first stumbling block would be the qualifying of course!

On bluesq.com I find it very bizarre that Mark Allen has the same odds as Stephen Lee and shorter odds than Jamie Cope and Mark Selby

The prices on this thread-head were put up on August 26; surely there has been some big change since then?

Particularly, surely Messrs Ebdon and Dott will be more fancied after their good performances at York and, possibly, Hendry as well. Anyone got any updated odds?

Ebdon was a great shout at 25/1...but just looked on bet365 and he's now down at 10/1!

Looking at the draw, I'd say Dott is a decent outside bet at 16/1. With Ronnie and Higgins in the same quarter I won't be betting on those two.
