I'm not doubting you, The Statman, but the number you gave seems to be advertised by this organisation (as their second fax number)!

Oh well, Sheffield Theatres themselves advertise this as their box office number: http://www.sheffieldtheatres.co.uk/i...0&ContentID=36

I think possibly you accidentally mistyped 249 as 279 (?) - doesn't matter... I just wanted to make sure that Ginger_Freak could get through...

                where to stay?

I'm going there with a friend for the 2nd round matches over the weekend of th 28-29th April, but still haven't booked a place to stay. Does anyone know what hotel the players stay at? Be cool to stay at the same hotel...

Indeed. My 18-night stay is costing me the same as ritb's first four nights (slightly cheaper, actually!).

I hope you have booked yours. I just got the news my uni has some exchange programme with Sheffield University end of april. It seems they are lodging around 225 students! Better hurry.

I'm staying at Hallam Uni, not Sheffield Uni – a bit further out of town, but the office there assures me there will be no problem (although, slightly worryingly, they have asked that I contact them again at the beginning of April to book firmly!).

My contact in Amsterdam Uni told me Sheffield Uni could not house all of them, I bet some are lodging at Hallam Uni. Thats why they want you to check again beginning of April. You could end up under a fly over!

How much does it cost to stay at the uni and where is it in relation to the crucible? I'm only going for a couple of days this year like I did last year mainly due to cost of accommodation but if there's a cheaper option fairly close to the crucible I'd like to go for longer next year - being a female I don't fancy getting across sheffield on my own late at night so I usually try and stay fairly close to the venue.

Well I'm staying for 18 nights and the total cose (if it's similar to last year) is just under £200.

It's basic, with a shared bathroom and no breakfast included, but - it's only £200!
