Hi all,

I'll be there for a while, well, hopefully for the duration of the tournament! I'll be staying in the McDonald St Pauls hotel next to the Crucible.
Anyone fancy a drink??!!

I've not been to the crucible for years and only managed to secure tickets for a few 2nd round sessions. Unfortunately I couldn't get to see Ronnie, which would have been nice. I've heard that sometimes they have tickets for sessions available on the day for "walk ins"... Anyone know if is this the case? Is there still chance I could get to see some more sessions?

Oh for sure there is. The box office takes back returns from ticketholders who can't go, so if you pop in at the box office each time you're passing you never know what you might get.

The last two years, I've managed to get a final night ticket only a couple of day beforehand.

When a big name has just been knocked out, that's the best time to ask. Followers of a particular player will hand their tickets in as soon as 'their' man is out.

it costs me £1,200 for 18 nights but i save up so i can stay right near

hotel bar never shuts so its ideal for me

I shall be residing in Riverside on 26th and 27th folks. Fairly good price and, in the past, a decent enough bar, so long as you dont get back too late to commence the drinking session. Only a 6-7 minute walk from Crucible.

My couple of days is costing the equivalent of exactly half what ritb is paying nightly. They still have plenty of vacancies too. Breakfast is about £5 p/night extra though.

Hehe, get in early for a chance to spend the night with Cyril!

I usually stay at the Cutlers too when I do go, dont know yet whether I will be going though, am not sure I want to kennel the dog for that long.

well the final is always played over the may bank holiday monday weekend so going by that the dates should be 19th April to the 5th May.
