      I thought the top 16 got in automatically and then 17-32 played against 33-48 for the other 16 places?

        Yes you are probably right actually.

        I'm probably getting confused because the tv coverage for many tournaments starts at round 2.

        so it makes it seem as if there are more q rounds than there actually are, if you know what i mean.

          Yes but the 33-48 have to play the players who came through the round before.

            • I really do hope that the long break that Higginson has to deal with now doesn't effect his form. I mean, basically, the season is over for him in terms of ranking events. It would be a shame to see him lose his sharpness over the next 5 months or so.
