  • Crucible débuts

At this stage last year we knew there would be a minimum of one débutant and a maximum of five, and it turned out that the minimum of 1 was what happened (the lowest ever).

This year, the following could do it:
    David Gilbert
    Adrian Gunnell
    Judd Trump
    Rory McLeod
    Ding Junhui
    Joe Delaney
    Mark Allen
    Ricky Walden

So, a minimum of 0 and a maximum of 8. How many do you think there'll be?

hope Trump doesnt make it as if he does that almost certainly means Wattana will be outside the top 32 next season !!

Judd is young enough-come backnext year !!

am with you here. Really hoping James can beat him, right now he is still in my opinion the best player ever to come out of Asia.

Ding will take this crown in a couple of years but Wattana was so good its hard to watch him fall like this. HIs 147 the day his Dad died at the British open was one of the defing moments in snooker history for me.

Agreed. That was an historic moment, but then, Wattana has always had that aura about him. Genius player back then in the early 90s.

Very sad now to see him lose to players who, frankly, are not fit to tie up his boots!

I know what you mean with that last line Cyril. Its hard to read some (proably young or new to snooker) members speaking of Wattana as a lame duck member of the tour. He deserves more than that.

Wattana lost 5-4 to Lee in the China open last year after being 4-1 up & lost to Doherty by the same score this year in the Northen Ireland open after being 4-2 infront and missed an easy pink for 5-2. a victory in either of those matches meant he would probably been safe for another season

looking at the global snooker centre updated rankings he is 29th but on the worst case senario presuming he doesnt win another match then

Fu, judge, gray, allen, hamilton, mcmanus need one more victory to overtake him and

                          mculloch and walden needs two

gunnell and obrien need three !!

i would suggest at least four of the eleven above will achieve that objective

Does anyone have the Wattana 147 - any chance you could upload it on youtube or somewhere similar.
