Some might say, how did the pasty oddball with a poor temperament beat O'Sullivan at the crucible in 2000 with O'Sullivan having made 5 centuries!!

I would say that as well but I can't be bothered.

Parrott is on for a good totatl this year. It should be close to 9000 now which means reentering the top 32 for 2008/9 is not an impossible notion.

Anyone else score really well in these first four matches? I got them all right, with 5.5 points out of a possible 8. This can only mean one thing. The rest of the matches will be very poor for me, as when I start well, I always end up predicting really badly over all.

A mere three for me. I was sure I had Parrott for the win but I was wrong and Dale let me down too.

            So, today's matches are:

            Alan McManus - Joe Delaney
            Joe Swail - Dave Harold
            Nigel Bond - Jamie Burnett
            Ryan Day - Marcus Campbell

About 45 mins to go until break-off.

I assume that none of these matches is being televised?
Are they all being played in Sheffield?
Is anyone on TSF watching them?
              Thanks

I haven't heard about any being televised - be great if they were - suffering from snooker withdrawal symptons! they're all at the EISS in Sheffield.

                  Latest updates:

2-0 Alan McManus - Joe Delaney
2-0 Joe Swail - Dave Harold
2-0 Nigel Bond - Jamie Burnett
2-0 Ryan Day - Marcus Campbell

And they all started their 3rd frame in the same minute it seems.

                  I guess that's what you call synchro-snooker!

LOL, indeed! Funny how coincidences work. I am curious to see how they will turn out...

                      Oh, McManus-Delaney and Day-Campbell are 2 - 1 already, end of synchronization!

Btw, I don't recall having seen Marcus Campbell's face before, should I?

I think he's been around a bit so its is quite possible he made a televised event at some time, but whether that was 2006 or 1996 is another thing entirely (pretty sure he's not old enough for 1996 though.)

I think Marcus Campbell is arguably best known for having humbled Stephen Hendry 9-0 in the first round of the UK Championship a few years back. (not certain about all the details - possibly wasn't 9-0, but certainly a whitewash, possibly not the first round, and possibly not the UK Championship - but I think most of it is right or thereabouts!)

Marcus Campbell has been around for a few years ago but I haven't seen him on tv recently. I saw him play Stephen Hendry in the UK Championship at Bournemouth about 7-8 years ago and believe it or not Campbell won 9-0. Unfortunately for him it was in the pre tv stages.

Thank you for the very accurate info!

I wonder if I should dare ask about Delaney, whose name does ring a bell but his face doesn't...
