  • Crucible alphabet extended!

Mark Allen has just become only the second player beginning with 'A' to appear at the Crucible – he overtakes Roy Andrewartha (who represented England but I believe was borm in Wales) as the top name in the Crucible stats!

He also ensures that 2007 will not be the first year that the Crucible does not contain a débutabt.

We just need a 'Y' to extend the alphabet the other end; will be useful to follow Newbury!

Hopefully a Chinese player will fill that gap soon enough.

One would expect a 'Young' or something or other to have qualified in the last 30 years...

One might have expected Paul Wykes to do it once!

Perhaps Zinedine Zidane might fancy a change of career now that he has retired. (bit of a contradiction there admittedly!)

He could be snooker's best headbutter since Alex Higgins!!

Certainly he should have TS, if only for you!

So which letters are still lacking?

                  I, Q, U, X, Y Z?

This idea gave me the laugh of the day!

Well, he already has a nickname ready, Zizou would fit in a snooker discussion smoothly!

ROFL chasmmi, does the new snooker star have to come from football?
Anyway, in that case Zagorakis matches the profile, he was captain of our National team and all - only he isn't known to headbutt...

Second thought: nope, Theo wouldn't be good for snooker, this guy was made for other things!
But one never knows, I'll sure keep you posted if he decides on a change od career!
