I somewhat agree with you Paul. Steve has been playing poorly most of the season while Parrott has had something of a resurge. And also Parrott is known for beeing of a truly competitive nature and I'm sure he fancy his chances.
Although Steve is of course the favourite to win the match, but I think it may be a close one.
A semifinal in Wales and winning the current world champion, all by playing poorly, as you state - JP can only dream about that!
I mentioned a Davis Hendry final in another thread somewhere. And I'd love to see Davis trounce O'Sullivan.
Sorry but that is never going to happen. Davis's only hope of trouncing Ronnie would be for Ronnie to be in a bored and disinterested mood. But even that wouldnt happen as Ronnie seems to have a lot of respect for Davis.
In answer to the original question I would most like to see a Ronnie Hendry final. But for Ronnie to make the final atall would be great, regardless of who he has to play.
"You can shove your snooker up your jacksie 'cos I aint playing no more!" Alex Higgins.
I know it won't happen. Davis might defeat Ronnie, but that would be quite an astonishing event as it it. Though I do remember a Welsh Open final not so long ago in which Davis had a near victory.
It will already be a big achievement for Steve if he remains in the top 16 next year. Playing the final is asking too much from him I m afraid.
An Osullivan vs Hendry final could be magic. Could go both ways, ..and I could easily live with an "Hendry the 8th" too.

..all the more as Steve only practises 1 or 2 hours a day (which is not enough of course) - I simply cannot imagine him losing against JP (a nice bloke however).

I support that! I want to see a final involving 2 of these players:
Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry, Ken Doherty, John Higgins
(No idea which combination is possible, though, too lazy to look at the draw )

The first three are in the same half of the draw - so any of them could meet Higgins in the Final. But only Davis will make it that far.
"If anybody can knock these three balls in, this man can." David Taylor, 11 January 1982, as Steve Davis prepared to pot the blue, in making the first 147 break on television.
OK I will
Hendry V Doherty is impossible
Davis V Hendry or Doherty is impossible
Higgins V Hendry, Doherty or Davis is possible
Thanks! Then I'll go for Higgins V Davis as my favourite (highly unlikely). Watching Stephen Hendry play can be really frustrating nowadays, he seems to lose his concentration too often... and then I have to turn off the TV . As I want to watch the whole final, I take Higgins V Doherty as my second favourite

If thats not possible I would settle for Higgins V's Hendry. They're good friends, stablemates and practice partners and know each others game well. This would make for a fantastic final. I would have no preference who won because in the world final the only winner is the rightful winner. If that makes sense!?
i would have liked to c paul hunter vs ronny... but not possible ever again
also like seeing ronny vs steves. i'd like to c him climb up a bit more get his game back..ronny win of course higgins and ronny good too
