Robertson's family will go to Sheffield to watch at him playing
Let's hope it will help him!
Neil Robertson is hoping to go deep in to the World Championships in Sheffield later this month - in order to entice his family over to watch him from Australia. The Melbourne Machine is based in Cambridge during the snooker season, 10,000 miles from his family home.
But Robertson - who has already won two ranking titles this season - is hoping that the incentive of watching him in a Crucible final will draw his relatives from half-way around the globe.
"Obviously, I'll be going in to the tournament with a lot of confidence after winning two tournaments already this season," Robertson told Eurosport. "I just can't wait to play there.
"And it will be fantastic if I could make a final or something like that. I'd love my father to come and possibly my family members as well. That would be great.
"Obviously it is quite hard because it is around 24 or 30 hours of travel, but I'd love them to come over here."
Robertson has made the televised stages at the World Championships the previous two seasons, losing to Stephen Hendry in the first round in 2005 before going down in the final frame to eventual champion Graeme Dott a year later.
And the 25-year-old is looking forward to enjoying the unique atmosphere at the Crucible once again as he bids to make it third-time lucky.
"Because it is so compact, so small, the crowd is very close to you and can almost touch you when you're playing a shot, it makes it very special there.
"It is just amazing that this small crowd seem to make more noise than anywhere else because it such a small venue.
"And I think all the history as well makes it a very special place to play."
Robertson, provisionally ranked number seven in the world, enters the tournament as one of the favourites following victories at the Royal London Watches Grand Prix and the Welsh Open.
"It would be fantastic to be World Champion, but I'm not going to get carried away. There are so many fantastic players, the likes of Ronnie O'Sullivan, Stephen Hendry, Ding Junhui and John Higgins.
"There are so many great players but just to be sort of talked as the potential winner is fantastic really and I just can't wait to get out there and play."
