I think to be fair the interactive coverage makes up for the BBC's shortcomings in terrestrial broadcasts. They have commentators in the box and cameras rolling for every minute of every match, 4 tournaments per year.

A lot of older people don't have freeview or basic Sky, there are still people who live in areas where cable isn't available and where dishes don't work (middle of countryside, I speak from experience).

The flagship event of a sport that provides a mot of the live sporting action for the BBC and they can't push the boat out a little bit.

Quite agree Rambon - it's also very annoying on interactive when they just stop the commentary at the end of each frame so you can just hear the audience noise. Not sure why they do that when the commentators are there anyway!

Luckily that differs from one country to another. I'd have "my" Eurosport commentator over any from the BBC team! IMHO they talk too much and get quite tedious after a while.

Saying that, I would of course love to get the interviews and other stuff that BBC produce. But it's understandable why Eurosport can't have that and I can find a lot of it on the internet anyway.

I'm thinking about recording every min Eurosport shows, but that would leave my comp working 100% 24/7, and I would have to spend half the summer watching all of it!

Not being Hegeland, I'll still post a useful link to the Eurosport schedule. It IS, however, in German. The schedule is for all of the European Eurosports.

AUFZ = Aufzeichnung = recording.

If you scroll up on that page it also has a schedule of when Hall of Frame is planned. WDH = Wiederholung = rerun. It seems that they will send the finals of the Masters, Malta, Welsh and China, starting next Monday.

I think the bbc coverage is excellent, I don't have / don't want SKY and got a freeview box for £25, not exactly beaking the bank eh?

To be honest the BBC schedule isn't all that bad, the main plus point being that the weekday afternoon broadcast goes on until 6pm in the first week for the first time for many years, rather than stopping at 5.15 for the Weakest Link. The biggest problem with it is that it seems to be fitted around when it is convenient for the BBC, and doesn't take much into account the importance of the match - on the second Friday, coverage stops at 9pm with no highlights until 12.35am - this will be the penultimate session of the first semi. Could they not spare half an hour at 10pm to round up the evening session, and use the late night slot for highlights of the whole day's play, for people who are at work during the day?

I disagree Andy, they should be showing every session live, and World Snooker should be insisting that that be part of the television deal, otherwise snooker's popularity cnanot grow.

Wait till Wimbledon comes around.... There'll be wall-to-wall coverage from start to finish, with highlight programmes and the lot. And some afternoons, such highlights of the sporting calendar as the Over 45's doubles between 4 geriatrics will be on live, while a true sporting event gets a relatively cursory appearance, and you know with the highlights from the first shot who is 95% likely to win each frame:

"Frame 3 now, and it looks like Ding has a reasonable chance at a long red...."
"Steve's in trouble as we join the action in Frame 7"

I think it must be a contractual thing. A kind of 'we're not paid to talk in these gaps so we arent going to'. Sometimes though they do seem to forget this when they are deep into whatever they are discussing and just keep on talking right through.

To be fair to them though, during the standard/terrestial broadcasts the viewing would switch back to hazel and guests in the studio anyway, so they would normally have a minutes rest here between frames.

I agree with Robert that no one can reallly complain about lack of bbc coverage now though with the superb live interactive available. Showing every single shot live from both tables.

Its not that expensive to get the set up at home and for any fan its so worth it. The exceptions though are people like Rambon who live abroad !

Here's me planning my Weekend-Viewing-Schedule and I realize that Eurosport will NOT be showing the first session of the O'Sullivan-Ding match there's bicycles in the Neteherlands instead I was SO looking forward to that match and now I won't get to see it! AT ALL! Because Monday afternoon I'll be stuck in the office! Oh the injustice of it all *looks for a tearfull smilie*

I remember, a couple of years ago when Dott was playing Stevens in the semi-final they ended the interactive coverage without any notice (final frame as well).They decided 'test the nation' takes priority.

From the Eurosport schedule I don't think they are going to show the Davis-Parrott match, so I have to try to get the BBC live stream working. Last time I didn't manage, none of the proxy servers I used seemed to work. Could anybody give me some advice on that?
