I did some calculation and for Davis to drop out of top 16, you need at least 4 of the 5 things happen and they can all happen at the same time:
1. Day pass first round
2. Hawkins pass first round
3. Swail or Parry get to quarters
4. Bottom Half: Matthew Stevens or Selby or Carter get to their semi or Mark Allen wins the world
5. Top Half: Michael Holt get to Semi or Hamilton or McCulloch to win the world
Note: I've figured if Matthew Stevens do get to semi, his score will tie with Davis at 24950, how is that gonna work out?
According to Sarmu's calculation Steve Davis can start the day with champagne I guess
Yea Davis can't drop out of top 16, althou mathematically there is still a possibility that Davis need to play 1 extra round next season, which you need someone like Andy Hicks or JP to win the WC
