To me it is embarrising to disrespect tradition like he does!
What? You don't honestly think snooker should let go of good players because of a clothing detail? If he can't play with it, it surely must be better that he plays without instead of not playing at all. It's a bow-tie, it's not the end of the world if he doesn't play with it.
That having been said - Mags is now 4-2 up He's nowhere near playing as well as he did in the first round, though, but there are a couple of sessions left to adjust.
If you don´t think there should be rules for clothing, then I am with you.
BUT if there are rules, I think everyone should respect them.
And I can´t see how it can affect your play in such a great way IF YOU GIVE YOURSELF SOME TIME TO ADJUST TO IT.
But if you try it once and miss an easy pot and trows it away like a spoiled brat, then you don´t get my approval.
If everyone else through history of snooker could play with a bow-tie (and play better than spoiled Mac) why can´t he?

And I like preserve some tradition!
Yeah I agree with you tradition is important but Maguire apparently comes out in a rash if he wears a bow tie, the irritation that causes is not something you can just 'adjust to'
If someone had a clubbed foot and could only play comfortably whilst wearing trainers then he should be allowed to. He does have a doctors note don't forget, it's not just something he doesn't like doing
I doubt that he got a doctor to write him an excuse, that the WSA also accepted, if it was just "no, don't wanna, don't wanna". He did use to play with it earlier, but there is a medical reason why he does not do so any more, and I am perfectly fine with that. He is obviously capable of playing snooker at a high level, and should be allowed to do so.
I just had a right giggle at the audience, watching both games, listening to one, the audience nearly constantly went awwww ohhhh and aaaaah for a little while there.
Murphy v Parrot 8-7
Maguire v Swail 5-2
Edit: Swail did miss a long pot just after that piece of statistics, so not 100% anymore.
