In reference to the Murphy v Parrott match the only way I can see Parrott winning if he gets well ahead because like he did against Davis he will need a couple of chances in getting over the finishing line as it would be a huge result for him.

A bit late, as I took some sun in between sessions, but Yes! Go Parrott! I think he showed his intention nicely in that last frame (century clearing all the colours...). 8-8 great result. A couple of frames were lucky for Murphy, so no great playing by him today! Murphy looked just slightly shocked, I don't think he imagined losing his advantage in this session.
Unfortunately I didn't see Maguire (Stu's nice little tool doesn't want to work for me this afternoon either, any of you have it working? OH, just as I'm writing all the windows popped up). But great result there as well
But why is McCulloch letting this game slip away? 4-6 and Anthony in the balls again
Matthew looking sharp!

This may have already been discussed but I want peoples opinions on a particular shot by Parrott during the deciding frame against Davis. Its the shot where he tried to pot the red off the pink as otherwise he would have left the red on. I don't know what amazed me more out of Willie Thorne in the commentry box suggesting it was the shot to take and to deny he attempted it if the ref questioned him or the fact that Parrott actually attempted it. I really wished the red had gone in as I would have liked to have seen the refs reaction. I always thought this type of shot was either illegal or not very sportsman like or both. Have the rules changed? I was a bit disgusted by it actually. Whats the point of the miss rule when players can just foul their way out of trouble then deny everything. Its not what Snooker is about and I don't think Willie Thorne has any place suggesting its ok to do a deliberate foul and then deny it to the ref to avoid any adverse comeback. Just like a naughty schoolboy. Any thoughts?
Also, less of a concern but what is the opening sequence all about? Brushing chalk off the horse?? I think whoever thought that up must have been puffing the magic dragon at the time. Or maybe its clever subliminal conditioning by 888.com to entice viewers in to taking up on-line poker. Maybe if I slow it down there are hidden messages!
Apart from that I'm enjoying every minute of the world championships and unlike other years where I miss most of the opening rounds I've been watching as mush as possible. John Higgins is playing well and is through to the second round, as are a few top draws, which is fab!

Yay I am now a 'Green' member! Does this mean I use less electricity with every post?
PS McClulloch pulls one back - 5-6
