  • Argh my digital box is having a funny 5 minutes and can't pick up the digital channels Hopefully it will work again soon..
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman

    • I think Parrott needs to win 3 of the next 4 frames at least if he is to win as I don't see Murphy faultering at the winning line.

      • Joe Swail finally wins a frame! 8-3 now.

Looks like Murphy has had some more luck in winning another frame to go 11-8.

        • That frame Parrott lost... looks like it's over for Parrott, and I hope I'm wrong

          • He isn't getting any 'fortune' at all. Except for the one ball he fluked Murphy is getting it all and it really angers me when this happens.

            • Mags v Swail 8-4

It is looking like a one-way affair over at the Murphy and Parrott table. Too bad.

                • Murphy 13-8 Parrot
Not bad result, Parrot keeped Murphy in nerves in 2 session, but this wasn't enough for third. Anyway well done John!
                  Maguire 11-5
Looks like domination of Maguire, but actually he is not playing his best and Swail is playing not worse than him, but maybe Joe is unlucky

                  • yes, had expected a bit more of a fight from JP in that last session. Quite anticlimatic
The parts of the Maguire game I saw showed pretty solid snooker by him, nice long pots, confident game (must admit, I snoozed off though in the middle due to the Murphy - JP last session never showing any excitement)

                    So today:
                    1000 BST
Anthony Hamilton (Eng) v Ian McCulloch (Eng) go Ian, take the lead
Matthew Stevens (Wal) v Mark Allen (NI) Matthew hopefully again, but Mark does real well here

                    1430 BST
Stephen Maguire (Sco) v Joe Swail (NI) that shouldn't take long
Stephen Hendry (Sco) v Ali Carter (Eng) oooh, big one! I'll have to be prepared to channel my energy (who has Ali Carter btw., will have to check that Alex, you should ammend your lucky-dip fixtures!

                    1900 BST
John Higgins (Sco) v Fergal O'Brien (Ire)
Matthew Stevens (Wal) v Mark Allen (NI)

                    • Matthew took the first frame with a 101.

Does anyone else have probs with the BBC stream today? It just says "The broadcast has ended".

                        • About Joe Swail not taking it long, beware! he managed to come back a few times. Against Ken Doherty 10-6 to 13-12. and another one i heard yesterday. 10-5 winning 13-12 as well. Though, Maguire looks in good nick to take this one

                          • I am very impressed by the way Matthew found his form. 8-4 for him at the moment (and Allen is not playing bad himself, I am sure we will see much more of this young man). But regarding Matthew, I am beginning to believe, he could yet win this whole thing! He would deserve a big one! (edit 9-4)

Ian, not doing so well at the other table (10-8 for Hamilton, edit: make that 12-8)

                            • Maguire v Swail 11-7

Swail's working hard to catch up, and Mags isn't really doing too well right now. Hasn't had much table time, to be honest.

                              Hendry v Carter 1-1

Both playing well today. Hendry just nicked the second frame with a 92, and Carter got the first one a big break too, unless I'm mistaken.

                              Mon the Stephens!

                              • Maguire and Swail just trotted off for their cuppa, the score is now 12-8. Maguire had a lot of chair time, whilst Swail did a huge job of taking three frames, and got frustrated enough to get told by Michaela to settle down.

Oooh, Hendry and Carter are back!
