We all know the topic on whether or not Stephen Hendry's modern era record of 7 titles will be beaten but instead does anyone think Jimmy White's record of 6 final defeats without victory will be defeated? The obvious candidate is Matthew Stevens, but can you see being broken ever?

I was just going to give the one away, but you mentioned the culprit already! I am of the opinion it will take a long while for anyone to be the next best player never have to won the worlds. Actually White was the best player at the time, but he just lacked the steel nerves. I dont think Stevens is on the same level as Jimmy was. Mind you, Stevens is a good player but not in the same category. I cannot really believe Stevens will be in another four finals. He will be lucky to have another go.

Maybe Ding could be the next one, as he seems to falter under pressure if the audience gets out of order!

No, I don't think his "record" will be broken...
I also don't see someone playing 5 WC finals in a row, in the near future either....
      Come on Jimmy!!!!

Jimmy peaked around 1991/92 and he was truly awesome, winning tournaments back to back. Unfortunately, he kept coming up against that man, Hendry, when it mattered most.

Cant help but wonder what he might have won, had he beaten Hurricane in the '82 semi, or indeed Davis in the '84 final, when, he was hung over on the first days play, following a night out with Alex. Trailing 4-12, he dominated the second day but Davis fell over the line, 18-16.

I don't think it can be beaten.
The nearest is Stevens with 2 losses, and I think he won't lose more
