  • Trump : what a guy !

Really enjoyed seeing Trump today. Was very exciting especially when he lead Murphy 6-5 with some brilliant play.

On what i've seen so far it seems to me he has the magic ingredient of an Alex, Jimmy or Ronnie. That certain something that makes you love watching them. (A mixture of talent, flair and speed, along with some style and charisma).

Like mose people I hope he carries on developing and fulfills at least some of his promise, I think he could not only break some of Hendry's and Ronnie's 'youngest ever' records, but he could also become a huge crowd favourite in the same way as the preceeding 'peoples champions'.

    Dannydog,
agree with you. I would throw Hendry into that mix as well.
I had never seen the guy play until yesterday, reminded me very much of a young Hendry.
I hope he follows the Hendry path and slows a tad down.
Jimmy was Hendrys hero but realised to be a winner you had to be more like Davis so he dropped his pace around the table.
I think a lot of people forget how fluent Hendry was. The other kid allen was no back number either. Their potential is awesome.

Yea Trump really palyed brilliantly, and didn't show sign of nerves.
Murphy really had to work to beat him. When he will get older, he will play fantastic snooker, and maybe will think more. C'os he lost match to Murphy c'os of attactk, where he can do a good safety.
BTW, there's a lot new geniuses, and soon we will have new Trump's!

thought so too, he went for one too many pots, didn't he? but he is very exciting, like the commentator said, "he certainly doesn't hang around the table"

But what on earth is wrong with these boys' hairdos these days? Mark Allen has a mohawk with some colour in it, Judd Trump looks like a firecracker went off inside his head. I'm not saying they should all look like Davis or Parrott, but something at least a little less Punkarific should be possible, yeah?

Totally agree ... He's still immature of course - in the end Murphy's experience, and safety play, paid off - but very interesting and pleasant to watch.
And that's good for the game: if we want to see more snooker on TV - and attract sponsors (sad reality!) - then entertaining players - even "showman" (*) - are much needed!

And I really enjoyed watching Mark Allen as well ...

(*) I wouldn't go so far as to recommand some Super Hero outfit to replace the current dress code though ...

It' s part of their personality- plenty of time left to look (and play) like Parott or Davis; and btw I never doubted you had a neat hairdo

Trump was outplayed by Murphy in tactical game - still needs plenty of experience in that department, and hopefully he will manage to balance his exciting attacking game with excellent safety. The snooker he played was really great to watch... there was a feel of youth in it, he is not matured player yet, but when he'll be - he'll be winning tournaments.

After having read some articles about him I've seen him playing yesterday for the first time - and I'm impressed. Respect! Surely we will see more of him in the future....
