  • Those matches always brings out the best in them. I am sure its going to a decider. Unless ROS displays the vintage 2005 Masters Final again, we could see another white towel on the cue. I doubt it though.

    • I don't think Robertson can be compared to Higgins, they are different players with different styles - so the match won't be the same. Robertson is so talented he can take 'impossible' shots and can rise his game to that of osullivan. Higgins is a fighter and good breakbuilder and an Osullivan on course will rather be stopped by Robertson than by Higgins. But Osullivan not on his best will be beaten if JH plays the way he did his last session, but there is no guarantee for this either.
I saw that going differently in my mind

      • I have to agree with Wim. Those matches between ROS and John Higgins are unpredictable. both can win it. Likewise a Hendry against ROS or Higgins, I would not favour Hendry at all. I bet those two are the most competitive if they play each other, and it can go either way.

        • I didn't watch any of the match yesterday, but everything I saw today was impressive! Well played by both, well done to Ronnie, I'm curious to see how far he'll go (I know the Ronnettes will say: "all the way to the title of course" )

Not that I don't appreciate Ronnie's skill. I'm not the typical fan tho.

                      • I guess Ronnie didn't want to go home after all! Excellent final session! Especially since I woke up in time to see Ronnie make a ton to go 9-9.
Still...still...still...2 matches...23 frames won with appaling long potting percentages, careless break-off shots, mid-distance pots going so astray and some positional losses? Not to mention average safety?
I really think there might be a little problem with Ronnie's eyesight. How many long ones did he get? 2 out of 7? Worse? Sure, there were those in the first frame of the second session - that missfest, actually - but then what happened? They were waaaay off.
"My bad game isn't enough to beat his bad game, because he's more consistent, more methodical than me and sometimes he goes on missions when he just doesn't miss". Ronnie on Higgins.
I for one am happy for the final session. And hope for a classic tomorrow. Today in my corner of the world.

                            • BC, actually commentators noted that Ronnies long pot percentage is quite similar to Neil's (well, it didn't look so, though in the last frames Neil surely made his percentage a bit worse)

perhaps he took on more long pots than ronnie did? he was nowhere near the standard of NRs long potting
