To be fair it wouldn't matter who Carter were playing he would beat anyone on this form. I just hope he can keep it up because without doubt he has one of the best games around, he just needs to add the consistancy and belief and he'd be a regular tournament winner.

agreed, he's on top form, Ali. I just wish he was playing someone I don't like as much as I do Hendo

Marcel Proust had an haddock! If you're calling the author of 'A la recherche du temps perdu' a looney, I shall have to ask you to step outside!

I am afraid I think thats Hendry done for this year, even with his experience coming back from 9-3 against somebody playing like that can't be done

My thoughts exactly. I've always liked Carter, but man this is a bad time he chose to reach his top game!
I'm afraid I never manage to stay objective when a player I like so much is playing, but from what I gather Carter is in fact playing very well, right? Not that's that's any comfort - or an excuse for Hendry...

Hendry has been disappointing this evening, but Carter really hasn't taken his foot of the pedal. Isn't he still at a 95% pot success rate? After 12 frames? That's remarkable.

Being a Hendry fan, i'm disappointed, but hats off to Carter here (although i'm sure he'll blow it in the quarters). Unless he chokes very badly he can just stumble over the line now.

Hendry last lost in the 2nd round in 1988 I think - 13-12 to Jimmy White.

Is this the beginning of the end? He is almost certain to slip out of the top 8 - for the first time in almost 20 years.

I've always liked Carter, so normally I'd back him, it's just ... well, bad timing, really. I'd be delighted to see him in the final. Just have to swallow him beating Stephen first

Hendry needs to win the remaining frames tonight, that would make it 9-7. Very unlikely, 11-5 or 12-4 is more realistic I think. Carter could even win tonight!

Nice 57-break, though. Bad luck that none of the reds were on after he dug into the pack.

                    Mon Stephen!

Come on Ali keep it up!!!

I love watching Carter when he's playing like this. He seems so smooth and makes things seem so easy.

Ronnie at 11/10 seems far too low, especially with John Higgins in that half.

I am going to make a very bold statement here.

If Hendry gets through this match he will win the tournament.

If Hendry wins the match it will be a miracle. He is finished!
