am I the only one who fins Selby's general appearance somewhat repelling?
it's something about his face, I don't know, I don't think I would do a good job if I tried to describe it
he might be a nice guy though, it's just my initial impression..

I agree, for me he has an expression on his face that makes him look arrogant. Mind you, it's just his appearance, I don't want to suggest that he actually is arrogant. I don't know much about him anyway, but I sort of dislike him...

I´m hoping for Higgins vs Murphy in the final.

Never liked Maguire, I can´t get over the bow tie-issue...
Don´t like Murphy much either, but to see another nobody like him go all the way and win would take all the mystique away from the crucible. Therefore I can´t cheer for Selby (plus he has that disgusting ring on his finger).

Imagine to have three firsttimers in a row, who never won a tourny before, win at the crucible! What does it say about the sport?
Anyone can just go in and win the world title! I don´t like a bit.

I agree with you both, dino and Ekphantos, and I can't explain it but I have a bad feeling when I see Mark Selby's face.

Mark Selby looks like a real killer. His eyes are dead and his face is expressionless. He frightens me.

On the other hand, he has a killer instinct when it comes to snooker. And I like his playing style.

OK, so I am not the only one. I really don't want to sound like an ******* and he might be a really nice guy but he looks arrogant to me and he doesn't have the looks of someone who could be loved by the masses, if you know what I mean..that little something, the charisma..Paul Hunter RIP had it, Higgins has it, Hamilton has it..it is the positive energy that you can see around these guys..If I could choose a player I could have a beer with it would never be Selby

yeah but the look isn't everything - indeed he looks the coolest semi finalist and is the youngst and btw I was surprised too by Higgins' age I thought he was already in his forties.
I saw that going differently in my mind

If I had to choose someone to have a beer with it'd be Ken Doherty or Jimmy White. Ken Doherty because he has a brilliant sense of humour and I'd love to see him drunk and Jimmy White because he's obviously my favourite player!

Though I wouldn't pass on a few lagers with Davis, Higgins and many other players.

I'd love to have a pint or two or fifteen with Steve Davis and John Higgins, though I suspect I won't be able to understand John after two pints each.

Higgins broke down on 55 in the second frame.

Elvaago Ken is my favourite player too, a great sportsman with a great sense of humour and he would be my 1st choice too

                            Higgins v Maguire 1-2

John is really going to have to up his game in order to get past Mags! Third frame won with a break of 102.

I want them both to win
