Nothing he did. He just surrendered, broke off Quinten Hann style, spread all the reds around, went back to his chair and put a towel over his head. And then during the next frame he swore audibly, hoping he'd get the frame docked and thus the match.
Meanwhile his clone won four frames with big breaks and displayed some great snooker while doing so.
And, Sky...diminishing the value of Higgins' opponent only diminishes the value of Higgins' performance.

Meanwhile some great match standard from the two Scots so far. But Maguire and his forgetfulness... How can a professional lose sight of a colour being respotted on its rightful place? Dude!

Looks like 4-3 to Mags. Higgo already needs snookers

You wrote, that you wanted a better match. A possible Murphy - Higgins match will be high quality with lots of high breaks. OK you don´t like the players - but still they are showing some excellent stuff at the moment. With the four players left I think every combination will be high quality.

I hope higgi beats maguire, i cant stand the idea of murphy being world number 1 and world champion, and i think higgi is the top guy left in this championship to stop him!

For me its got to be a Higgins v Murphy final, Selbys not ready yet for the biggest stage, and Maguire though playing well, is not exactly on fire.
Johns class should see him lift the cup, those two clearences he did against Ronnie were in the Hendry class.
4 each at the moment but John is in a different league to the others and can see him winning both matches with a lot to spare.
Today he seemed a little hung over from the Ronnie match but he will pick up today. He really is different class.

Higgins and Maguire go for their break at 6 - 6.

Are the BBC commentators more enthusiastic about Higgie or is it just my idea?

The players are back out after the mid-session interval, and theres some excellent safety being played by both here. Willie thorne said its like chess on the green baize

Higgins won the 13th frame and he leads in the match for the very first time.

                          7-6

The Scots are all square again...this match could go really far, even to a deciding frame.
Good stuff though, excellent potting and safety play!

                                GO HIGGINS !!
