Well, I think we should cautiously welcome the announcement. Although you say there is only one tournament added to the calendar, cast your mind back twelve months – it is actually about three more tournaments that had been announced this time last year.
We just assumed the likes of the British Open and the Irish Masters would still be there when in act they were not. This year we know to be cautious, but we do, before June is out even, have a definite announcement of 7 tournaments.
Yes of course, we should hope for further announcements (particularly the British Open), but let's be cautiously optimistic.
