I am starting to think I might go to a tournament this season - perhaps Masters if it's in London... Somebody to encourage me?
Definitely come! Combine it with a little holiday if you can. Perhaps a little sightseeing between sessions? While London may have lost its greatest and best-known landmark in the form of the Wembley Conference Centre, it still has much else to offer the Latvian tourist. Plenty of snooker clubs to visit.

I shall certainly have my usual three or four days at the Crucible and, depending on the choice of venue, I may go to the Masters.

Thanks, d_g! I will definitely think about some sightseeing (I hope you will advise me on the sights I have to see ), depending on how long I will stay. Hopefully I will be there for a whole week.
