  • Provsional (one-year) rankings

The one-year list (based on 2005-06 season only) would appear to be as follows:

(figure in brackets is number of ranking points earned in 2005-06)

    Bold – surprisingly high
    Italic – surprisingly low
(note that I use the term 'surprisingly' to represent BOTH a player of whom more/less would be expected, AND a player who has just made very notable progress up/down the list – IMHO of course!)

    1 ..... Ken Doherty (20250)
    2 ..... John Higgins (19150)

Matthew Stevens at 32! Blimey I didn't realise his season was that bad!
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman

        52 ... Alan Mcmanus

        Is also disappointing

I personally would find it hilarious if Ronnie O'Sullivan dropped out the top16. Can't see it happening though
