    Hot off the Presses...

110sport.tv have signed a three year deal with WSA to deliver live streaming from all the qualifying rounds.

They will start with the Shanghai qualifiers next week.

I believe it's going to cost £2.99 for each session.

    But that's to be confirmed.

I'm not sure if they'll stream all 8 tables but they'll certainly be offering choice of matches on each session.

Very good to hear but £2.99 a session is a bit steep for me!

              Well........

I wonder how 110 Sport got exclusive rights to them - Nothing to do with Lee Doyle being a World Snooker Board Member im sure.

I would be very interested to see if offers were tendered out for the coverage - as you all say £2.99 is a lot when you consider other sport organisations promote for little or no cost !

Shame, it would have been much better if it was free. Seems like WSA needs all the money they can get, especially after money was lost, in the Bahrain championships last year.

Well, it's a start, but I would only pay 2.99 per session if the matches would also be available for downloading (per frame), or at least one match of your choice.

£2.99 per session is too much in my opinion, will be interesting to see whether the matches will be made available on demand as well.

Don't agree with things having to be free though, the production costs of 48 days of live snooker for Internet streaming would be in the region of £100,000

In many parts of the world TV coverage of snooker is not £2.99.
                        It's, well... PRICELESS.

A as it's simply not available at any price and
B because some socially-conscious spammer will rent the broadcast, hookup a video camera and stream it through the intertubes FREE.

                        =o)

everything is better free but if you go to prestatyn how much would it cost per session...would you expect to go there for free.

if this is the future for snooker and a way of making money to bring in to the sport from people who cant travel to venues for whatever reason so be it....

people complaighn that players dont get payed as much these days but when its sugested the fans put theire hands in theire pockets theres groaning noices then....nothing in this life is for free.

The WPBSA has signed a landmark deal with 110sport.tv to stream the qualifiers of all professional tournaments on the internet.

It means snooker fans will be able to watch every ball of every qualifying match live, starting with next week's Shanghai Masters qualifiers.

I understand 110sport will also inaugurate new events to be screened on their website.

This is, by anyone's definition, good news.

When I have more specific details I will of course report them here.
Dave it is only good news for everyone if they dont have to contribute sod all lol

                              £3 per session is ridiculous.
