mate isnt it worth it for 98p more to just get out of bed on a boring day and click on a website and a can in hand without a 3 hour car trip and sitting behind a 7 foot giant on uncomfychairs ???????

yes i understand that and i like to go there Live when i can but i was only putting the point across it isnt all that dearer than going to the venue but you get home comforts aswell...

i wont be using it a lot thats for sure £2.99 is 2 dear but if theres a match i want to see especially a Final qualifieng World Championship match say Doherty vs Trump i think its worth it for me otherwise id have a 3 hour drive and hotel accomadation in sheffield...

I think we basically agree on those points. There will be matches I would love to see even for that price - if it's available here, in Latvia (it would be very unfair to keep it only for UK viewers).
Btw, I recommend going to Sheffield (for the World qualifiers final round). The venue is good, I think there would be more spectators as well, there are a few budget hotels nearby, and you can watch even 2 or 3 matches at the same time.

I think the 2.99 is grand for friends or family of the new lads on the tour that would just tune in to view his match.
However I think they really need to look into a day and week long ticket for the genuine snooker fan that would love the facility to just log in and out during the week long qualifier to catch a few frames here and there.
Myself, I will probably sign up to watch David Morris play one or two matches, hopefully more however this season.
But at 2.99 would not bother signing in for any other matches that I have no real interest in.
However if there was a £10 per week flat fee or something similar I would probably pay it for the chance to catch a few more matches whenever I feel like tuning in.
However I really hope that they add a magazine style program in between the sessions with interviews with the players and a look at different aspects of the sport like equipment, tables, table maintenance, cues. These are all idea's that could be sponsored by the likes of Star, John Parris, Peradon, BCE etc, etc to cover the costs.
How about even a news bulliten covering snooker news from around the world since the last event etc, there's a whole world or snooker outside the pro ranks that World Snooker rarely cover and the likes of Global Snooker could supply to 110sport to give it some much needed coverage.
All in all I love the fact that 110sport are doing this and according to Ken Doherty they have invested a lot in this so hopefully it will be worth watching and really take off.

Wild, £2-4 for 3 days of the event is ok for me - IMO
the best way to organize a pool and ask the same question

i think they will have to look at it and realise if they reduce the price significantly then they will make more long term..

snooker fans are starved of action overall and if the price was right they would get more people to watch it.

£2.99 is WAY too expensive per session. As said before, say £5 - £10 for the whole qualifiers event would be better. I think they have made a big mistake there. It's still good but I wasn't as happy when I read their price. I think there will be a few cases when the only people watching will be the commentator (assuming they have one) and the director!

110Sport.tv To Screen Exclusive Live Coverage Of All World Snooker Qualifiers

110SPORT.TV are set to launch their exciting new tv channel on Monday (3 August) having agreed an exclusive three-year deal to screen live matches from all 48 days of World Snooker's qualifying events.
In conjunction with 110sport, the leading sports management company, the new 110sport.tv channel will be launched for Monday's opening day of the Roewe Shanghai Masters qualifiers at Pontin's Holiday Park, Prestatyn, North Wales.

Snooker fans will have the chance to purchase exclusive live coverage at a charge of £2.99 per session as the some of the sport's top players battle it out to try to qualify for the first ranking tournament of the 2009-2010 season.

The competition runs from 3-6 August, with six-time World Championship winner Steve Davis hoping to get off to a fast start.

Crowd favourite Jimmy 'The Whirlwind' White will also be in action, as will former world champions Ken Doherty and Graeme Dott.

And there will be a whole host of other top professionals in action with Ian McCulloch, Joe Swail, Jamie Cope, Dave Harold, Stephen Lee and Matthew Stevens all ready to kick off the new season in style.

A spokesman for World Snooker said: "The standard of play at the qualifiers is unbelievably high, and now fans across the world have the chance to watch some of the legends of the sport and up-and-coming stars in action. This is an exciting innovation for snooker."

David Mackinnon, the 110sport Chief Executive, added: "We are delighted to have signed an exclusive deal to screen the World Snooker qualifiers for the next three years," .

"It's very exciting times right now with the launch of 110sport.tv, it gives snooker fans from all over the world the chance to watch live coverage of qualifiers for the entire season.

"110sport.tv is an exciting platform for not just snooker fans, but sports fans all over the world to see exclusive live matches and get an exclusive insight to the lives of professional sportsmen and sportswomen."

they should wait to see who is the matches available when the players have won or loss....
