Yes but if they are going to do it the way they are then doing it by choosing the matches in advance then people will know what matches they are going to watch and can choose which sessions to buy.

I think that 110sport should charge £1 per session. Or charge between £5 and £10 for the whole qualifiers event depending on the tournament and how many days etc. I think they for the Shanghai Masters, China Open and Welsh Open the streaming should be free. I think that all matches should have one camera (if possible, I don't know about the costs). If they can't show all tables then do what they are doing for as many matches as they can do. I think they should have quality live streaming and commentary and possible a live chat system where viewers can post their thoughts in a mini chat room (like CueSportTV and AzBilliards). Or they could charge say £50 for the entire season's qualifiers.

A video magazine, as has been mentioned before, could be included. With interviews, tips from players tour of Prestatyn or World Snooker Academy etc.

With them doing it the way they are by picking the matches it is impossible for everybody to agree. Many fans may have prefered to see another player, it's impossible to please everybody unless they show all tables.

Why not making a poll on their website, and the viewers could vote for the matches to broadcast next day, and two most popular for each session would be showed?

You obviously know all about it.

Regardless of static cameras, you still need to employ persons by the day, plus 110sport will be streaming via satellite rather than a standard Internet connection. Satellite broadcasting costs £1000's

Production of the TCC is completely different and we are limited by space, we provide commentary for all pool events. Plus if you don't like the quality then don't watch, we have 22,000 monthly viewers that do enjoy our videos.

yes but theres a point here the camera men will be there and employers will be payed whatever the people that will be tuning in and paying the £2.99 per session.

wouldnt it be better to make it more accesable so you get more viewers i just think £2.99 a session will equal £23.92 for all sessions of next weeks tournament per person.

maybee if it was about £10 for the week it would be more atractive for people to perchase and therefore get a better return.

Fully agree on that. That price per session doesn´t invite one to take a look at some of the players in the low end of the rankings.

And it doesn´t do a lot to promote the game by my opinion.

from the potential qualifiers match ups these are the match ups id want to see and the matches id consider £2.99 a session.

                        Bold = Possible Viewing

                        Li Hang v Tony Drago
                        Mathew Selt v Mark Boyle
                        Jimmy White v David Gray
                        Andy Hicks v Mathew Selt
                        Judd Trump v Tony Drago
                        Liang Wenbo v Alan Mcmanus
                        Jamie Cope v Anthony Hamilton
                        Nigel Bond v Dominic Dale

so out of the matches id like to see for a price of £2.99 a session only 2 are possible for me so id only spend £5.98 on next week maximum.....however if it was £10 for the week id spend it so they miss out on £4.02 of my money because of the prices they charge.

I think if you look at the matches 110 are selecting to cvoer, they are obviously selecting their players to broadcast.

I'm not sure about them using satellite as there's been a brand new high contention line installed in Pontin's which I'm told is for the broadcasts.
But I'm not sure about which upload method they're selecting.

I also don't understand people requiring a commentator in order to have value? If you're sitting in a venue watching the match, you can see the table and the scoreboard and don't need a commentator.

It remains to be seen how they're going to address the issue of showing the ongoing score. It might be graphics on screen, because from the position of the camera they won't be able to see the scoreboard as well.

From what I understand, the cameras will be behind the black spot, as the tables are now positioned further up the booth to allow room for a camera.

When the old Global Cue sports did streaming from Pontin;s in most cases we had to position the camera from the audience end, ie behind the brown spot, but that did mean, with careful positioning we could include the scoreboard in a slightly longer shot. That was a compromise.

I also think the streams will be available worldwide. The market is certainly a lot bigger internationally than it is in the UK. Maybe the statement launched in the UK might be a bit misleading.

Careful persual of the selection of matches also suggests some new signings to the 110 stable... (you heard it here first!!)

Re the old GSC, the only reason we did free streaming was because it was all still experimental and we had issues with upload speeds for necessary quality from most venues we attended. Sadly providing if free came at the sacrifice of selling my house to provide the funds to provide the staffing and equipment for the streaming. That is not a course of action I recommend to anyone. And please don't kick my cardboard box as you walk past the arches at night!!

I would go along with a range of packages to be offered by 110 for the "must-watch" fans so that they could get better value to watch for the day, all rounds, all season etc. In fact I'll ring them tomorrow and suggest it and also point them in the direction of the fans' feedback that I've read here and elsewhere.

and a footnote to cuesport.tv.. I spent half the evening trying to subscribe and all I got was pages unavailable. It's not the first time I've had problems and I've yet to part with my hard earned dosh, despite trying several times to do so!!

I wonder how much 110 sport paid for the exclusive rights to show the qualifiers for 3 years?
$2.99 does seem a bit expensive to me, i consider myself a pretty hardcore snooker fan but the price will put me off watching all but a few matches during the season that i really really want to see.
I think the rise in demand they would see if they lowered the price would definitely increace their profits overall, i know i would end up giving them more of my money at a price of say $1 per session or even better a fixed price for the whole event or season.

It would be also nice if they had not only live streaming of matches, but also a possibility to pay for a match you want to see and watch it later - for those who are at work or elsewhere during the day and not able to watch it streamed live. But I guess we'll see how this service is working next week?

Hello Leonard. They said: "It's very exciting times right now with the launch of 110sport.tv, it gives snooker fans from all over the world the chance to watch live coverage of qualifiers for the entire season." So I think it's also available in Canada.
