I'd like Xiao Guodong to get another chance, thought that he was unlucky to lose his place this time around.

igor figueiredo should definitely get one, especially because he hails from brazil,we need to promote the sport world over and has been playing on a full size table for less than a year.the guy plays with heart.

I second that. He is a kind of amateur newcomer of the season & nice to watch too

Any decent overseas's player, with the right credentials should be nominated. Lets go back to trying to invite a player that has proven quality, and that they may attract enough overseas attention and media coverage, and also the promise of sponsorship into the game and television rights.

At the end of the day, thats what the wildcard was all about, wasn't it!

If Calabrese was good enough, wouldn't he have won the Oceania championships and qualified via that route by now?

Does anybody know how many there are? For instance is Scotland nominating
I just hope they are fair to PIOS players - particularly with all the byes in the last event.

Parrott said if they offered him a wild Card he wouldnt have taken it....

it isnt being on tour players like Parrott wants but to give justice to being on Tour and he feels he couldnt.

                              I should hope he did!!
Wildcards should be awarded to players who have a realistic chance to stay on the MT - and as BH says - everything should be done on merit not mediocracy. Giving it to a player that is inexperienced with no real achievements - just because he is from a certain part of the world - could harm the player just as much as the Tour.
I'm sure one year a player got a wildcard and didn't even turn up for a lot of matches - whether that was financial or not I can't remember - but the WSA have to be careful in who they offer them to - as they could do more harm than good to some players and destry their confidence if they're not ready.
