excellent point its only in recent years that players have looked so tired and its due to a lack of match sharpness

barry is the man to sort snooker out i admit i was wrong about him

Robbo Unbeatable in ranking finals 6 out of 6

Good news then. Lets hope we can now get things moving. As for the Doyle bid, well i think its a bit late to go down that road. Barry's come up with the plans, now its time to put them in action.

      Come on the Hearn:snooker:

Perhaps this will make other offers with more monies attached to come forward which is another thing to consider too.

I would be happy for the guy to fix my car if I saw his past work and was sure he knew what he was doing. I certainly would not be complaighninining either.:snooker:
Yep must agree 49% of something or 100% of nothing and thats the way snooker has been going for at least 5 years

1st PTC event date was changed by WSA because they'd clashed with the big Pink Ribbon event in South West Academy.

one of two others might change too because there was a clash with dates of EIS Academy Summer Schools.

It's a good thing the date's gone back a bit anyway because we won't know who the European Champion is until 4 June so they wouldn't have much time to get sorted, get entries in and get travelling and it would apply even more so to the Asian Championship although that is being played next week (sadly now without the Chinese players as China Government wouldn't give them permission to travel into Thailand, given the current unrest in Thailand.)

we haven't been given a date yet. But even if WSA whizzed back to Bristol and got the papers out very quickly, I doubt the papers would go out before Friday's post and there has to be minimum 21 days notice.

So I can't see it take place before very late May or early June. But I think they'll hold at the first available opportunity.

But just accept that others have their opinion (as I have). What's the use of getting your car back minus its engine (£3,000,000) if it doesn't work??

I accept this and it is a bit of a leap of faith.
Snooker needs an Abramovich figure or someone to pour money in it of course it does so were are they?
I think they were daft to turn down the last deal as this company were putting in millions and someone could yet come forward with a big money deal who knows?

You make it sound a bit like Hearn is going to walk off with this money and I don't think that would be the case he is after all a very rich man anyway. Perhaps these monies would be invested into the game when needed as it is today and no doubt the board will vote on things like this and not just one man making these decisions.

For me it is all about contacts and promotion and Hearn is good at that.
Though I am non-bias and can see the POV of Rex Williams, Ebdon, 110, Dell Hill etc.,

One thing I don't like is the fact that he has said he will walk away from the board if this deal is not accepted as I think this is like holding a gun to the players heads a little bit and I think they need time to both wait for a better deal to come in and/or assess the situation. I think as I have said that the board should be aware of conflict of interest issues (Said this before the Mooney/Higgins thing) if you check my posts. Also said that promoters/managers should be regulated better so they can't take advantage of any players. (ironic but true).

The conflict of interest here is that if 110 sport or anyone else came in with a better deal. He Barry Hearn would probably vote to turn it down because he wants control. Therefore he should resign from the board BEFORE making a bid to avoid this conflict of interest.

This is my opinion which I feel is fair and non bias although as a snooker fan I support Hearn's plans for the game and think and hope he would be a success I think he just comes across as a bit of a bully at times with the way he does things.

Maybe somebody in the know could clarify something for me?
Does BH's proposal include a 2 - 3 week qualifying period for future professionals? ie scrapping English amateur winner, Pontins etc. It seems to be a very short period for somebody to prove themself (if that's true) and would take no account of stolen/damaged cues or any other problems at the time.
                          Can somebody enlighten me please?

England have had their guaranteed places cut from two to just one. The English Amateur winner hasn't automatically had one of those spots in the (recent) past. The Pro Ticket tour run by the EASB supplies one of the places (number one in the series ranking), whilst the play-offs (ranked 2-17) provide the second place at present. The English Amateur does, though, provide (double) ranking points.

Ah ok. Will this stay the same under the BH regime? I have heard that it will not. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

If you read my last post you will see that I said that England have had their guaranteed places cur from two to just one (under the BH proposals).
