So, what are the tournaments in the second and third cutoff's.? Is the 2008/09 WC in the third cut off or is that on its own after next years WC.?

in 2008/2009 there was 8 Tournaments so

First Cut Off Points Taken Off
Northern Ireland Trophy------Ronnie O'Sullivan
Shanghai Masters------Ricky Walden
Grand Prix -------John Higgins

Second Cut Off Points Taken Off
Barhain Championship------Neil Robertson
UK Championship----------Shaun Murphy

Third Cut Off Points Taken Off

Then its the End Of Season Points Taken Off
China Open-------Peter Ebdon
World Championship------John Higgins

the last end of season cut off will be the one that hurts Higgins the Most if he cant re capture the winning formula when he is aloud to play and if with 14,000 points deducted with winning the worlds and runner up in china in 2009

Right, here is the provisional ranking list after this

weekend's Players' Tour Championship Event 1. I have taken out the points earned in the Northern Ireland Trophy, Grand Prix and Shanghai Masters in 2008. In regards to starter points, I have given starters this year 4,790 (the amount Xiao Guodong got last year). For the previous year, I have taken off 2,194, as three out of the eight events in 2008/09 have been taken out. This amount hasn't been confirmed (I'm just trying to give a fair account of each player so some don't get an unfair advantage).

I see on Global snooker in the rankings that they still have John Higgins as number one in the provisional rankings with Ronnie on 47835 ranking points at N0 2 with his 1000 rainking points added on from the PTC 1 event,

what as happen to the one year least after last Season when Ding was N0 1 going into the new season at N01 in the provisional rankings with 27200 ranking points and Ronnie is at N0 4 on this list on 25360 ranking points at the start of the new season, and with the 1000 points added on I make him on 24360 points at the start of the season, and with the 1000 points added on from the ptc 1 event takes him to 25360 points and Mark Williams the winner of event one on 25480 points while u have him on 34,580, can someone explain the new points system, I have read in snooker scene that the 2008 Shangi Masters points earned will be removed after the 2010 event has been conclued is this correct and last years one year ranking list will not be used where Ding is the provisional one,hope u can help me and i hope i haven't confused u all too much
