Anyone going to any of these around the country?

  • #2
    Sadly not

Our league evening is Thursday, but I would have forgone one of those if there had been a venue reasonably close by.

As it is, Crawley is the closest!

Might go to the finals in Manchester if its a Hendry vs O'Sullivan or something like that. If its Dott vs Ebdon or something though, I probably wont bother.

Probably wont buy the tickets befor knowing who is going to be playing. Guesss by then though all the best seats will be sold out ?

Dannydog - Ebdon isn't in the competition
I've been to the semis the last two years and only bought my tickets when i knew that Stephen Hendry was through. It hasn't been a sell out which is amazing and in fact there looked to be a lot more people at Carlisle last night than at the semis!

Oops. I was just using Ebdon as an example of one of the less exciting players, but should have checked that he was actually in the line up.

Wasnt he in this tournamnet last year ?

Thanks for the info about the attendances. If the last stages arent exactly sell outs, I will wait until I know who will be in the finals, before I decide whether to go or not.

Did you actually see a player looking at the shot clock, and what happens if a player does not play a shot within the 30 seconds?

Only Ronnie has ever been fouled for failing to keep within the 25secs (hard to believe eh, of all the people). Think he forgot twice in the same match last year, against the nugget.

'Foul and a miss' is called I think.

they have quite a lot of time outs so if they have taken some time they can call that

its a bit off putting as you can hear the pips when there are five seconds left and that can make them rush a shot

it was a good night as in cardiff there were three matches as it was the last before the semi finals
