  • Are there plans to televise the PTC?

    Hi there,

The topic says it all. I'd love to watch more snooker, and since matches are currently being played, it love to watch them, particularly the lower ranked players like Tony Drago and Jimmy White!

Are there any plans to televise them?

It is being televised in March, the top 24 players but if this is a knockout format surely there'll be 3 finalists! Think about it

EPTC4 at the end of this month will be streamed online, the best matches anyway that will be on the main table at the Southwest Snooker Academy.

Great, it sounds like this evenings final has been a real thriller.

They'll probably give 8 'byes' and the other 16 face each other.

          They should televise all matches

I'm guessing the 8 byes will be top 8 players in order of merit?

I've tried looking around but found nothing. Barry Hearn is constantly talking about 'order of merit' so I suppose it will be that way.

This is correct. The top eight from the 'order of merit' are automatically through to round 2. The other 16 play for a place against one of those 'Top 8'
                  Highest Break
                  Practice: 136 (2005)
                  Match: 134 (2006)
                  In 2011: 94
                  Centuries made: 50+

I think that next year, the names which are blatantly missing from the list above will take the PTC much more seriously, considering there are many ranking points available. If a player reaches the semis of all the PTCs he'd amass a massive 15360 points without taking in consideration the points for the finals. Or is this still a little compared to what you get in the proper ranking tournaments?

by the End of this season there will have been 12 PTC Events count towards their end of season Rankings, thats 24,000 potential points by the end of next season there will have been another 12 PTC Events and 24,000 potential points added, a total of 24 PTC Events and 48,000 points on offer now if top players wont take that serious then they wont be top players for long.
