Ding might withdraw from the Premier League

I've just heard the rumour that Ding might withdraw from the Premier League becaue it will clash with the Asian Games which Ding is to take part.

The semi and final of the PL are to take place on 2nd, 3rd of December. The cue sports of the Asian games will start on the 4th. It's almost impossible for Ding to get there on time if he plays in the PL final.

This would be a sad and shocking news.

Yes, but that's the UK. The Asian games originally clashed with the UK. The organiser of the Asian Games moved their schedule to allow Ding to play both tournaments, but of couse now it's clashed with the Premier League.

I also noticed Ding's first UK match is the last one to play for that stage which is unusual for a defending champion. I guess that's also a compromise from the WSBPA.

Yeah, it's indeed unfortunate if you are that successful. Too many tournaments to choose from. I'm sure not many players have that problem.

On a more serious note, it would indeed be a shame if Ding missed out on any of these but I'm afraid, he will have to choose and it seems he has already made up his mind, if the rumour is true. However, does his contract with the organisers of the PL allow such a decision???

I have followed reports from some China media; it is said that Ding has decided to choose Asian Games than the premier league if no compromise could be found to settle the clash.
So it would really be very unfortunate for Ding and the organisers and the fans. Though before between Asian Games and UK Championship it was reported that Ding personally had chosen the UK Championship.

I just checked the schedule , Ding hasnt got any matches till the 23rd of November.

So its all solved now.

The problem is that league semifinal and final will be 2nd-3rd December, while he will probably have to play in Asia games on 4th (as can be seen in that article hegeland published). So, if he has to play on 4th, he can't play in premier league.

If Ding get to final, his last match will be on Dec 3rd, 7.30 pm local time according to schedule

and Asian game starts at 4th Dec, and after you work out the time difference, I dont' think it's possible for Ding to make it

I don't know how long it takes to fly UK-China. But time difference is +8. If he's sheduled in the afternoon for the Asian it would be a question of heavy jetlagging, not of impossibility.

well. that year when Ronnie didn't want to go to China, he said he is not willing to fly there 17 hours and maybe lose in the first round (which he did a year later, but that's not the topic here). I just think maybe he was exaggerating a bit, but I guess the flight would take over 10 hours.
