I suppose that when I read the book I'll understand what you mean. If you went through all that suffering ( and I fully and deeply shared the feeling, I still do ) isn't it because you liked him? ( I still do. ) I guess his being very open, very candid about his life and snooker is something worth admiring. Or doesn't he care ? Or is he too proud to show he cares ?

Basically I was a huge fan when I was a kiddie and remember all 6 of his finals, and when you read the book you realise that instead of concentrating on getting the job done he was more likely to be getting rat arsed in between sessions. He doesn't admit as much, but when you read the book you just know that's what was going on! I heard a rumour years ago that the year Hendry won the last 10 frames, Jimmy had already "celebrated" becoming world champ. I don't wish to start false accusations which get blown out of proportion, but I honestly heard that story years ago, before the book came out and the book doesn't exactly go a long way to dispelling such a possibility!
