      Hello!

I'm very sorry if I violated the regulations! I was not aware of that.

This is not the same post as last time. This is a contest for the British Open. The last one was for the UK Championship.

The prediction contests are run strictly on an idealistic basis and I receive no payment whatsoever, neither through the competition itself nor the site it belongs to (WWW Snooker).

Still, I'll respect your wish and stop posting the invitations.

        Hi

        Hermund would never intentionally advertise

www snooker is the most highly respected website there has ever been for snooker - in fact Herm was nicknamed "God of the Net" by no less a publication than Snooker Scene.

it's been out there in cyberspace since 1994 - before most people even knew the net existed.

the prediction contests that Herm does, thanks to his brilliant programming skills are hugely popular and I don't think a reminder that a new contest is available for us constitutes advertising.

I've just posted all the tv details for the british open on GSC, which again is another service the websites like Herm's and mine provide for people, but are we going to be brought to book for making this service available to people who read the forums and may not be aware of.

It's not as if we were commercial sites trying to flog a product. These are service sites which take countless hours of hard work, as you've no doubt discovered in setting up this excellent forum.

None of us have to give up our time to provide the services for other people.. we could all **** off down the pub... come to think of it, that's not a bad idea!

I agree with GSC. Hermund is hardly spamming because I think most posters on this site would like to know about his competitions. Maybe he doesn't need a completely new topic for each tournament though.

Boy, am I glad that I did not hand in my predictions From the 10 matches whose outcomes I know so far, I got three right. I am going to have a serious word with Joe Swail, Ian McCulloch and all the other players I was putting my trust in.

Kaybebabe - you were the sensible one - I've made a total prat of myself as usual - only managed three winners so far today!! Ding, Hawkins and Maguire - I owe you a drink boys - thanks!!

and a very Happy Tenth Birthday to WWW Snooker - gosh fancy running a huge site like that for ten years - I'm totally knackered and GSC only started up in 1996... but many thanks to all you who are visiting the site...

We smashed our all time record on GSC today - reaching an amazing 100,000 hits at about 5pm this afternoon.... either snooker is booming or more people have computers these days!!

You only got three right, too? That makes me feel so much better I got Ding, Holt and Hicks right. All the others went belly-up. But Hamilton is looking good, and I predicted him to win. Lets hope he manages to get through.

Wow, running a website for 10 (and 8) years - that is dedication! Very impressive!! I tried running one for a while, and it is so much work keeping it up to date. Definitely requires a lot of motivation!

OH JOYEOUS DAY!! HIGGINS WINS 5-1!!! YES YES YES YES!!! No more drugs for me please, or I might hyperventilate

Other than that, Paul Hunter messed up my entire predictions altogether. He was supposed to make it to the final! And Peter Ebdon getting kicked out, what is that all about?? What is WRONG with people these days? But well done Shaun Murphy, he played really well today.

So! How did it go? I got 19 matches right - so over half wrong

But there is always the UK championship. After the British Open, looking at my predictions now, though, I am not sure if I will do any better there
