WOOOHOOOO! He won!! And what a great match!!! I almost jumped out of my window throughout the last frames. Thankfully, though, I didn't. Congrats to John, after all this time he deserved to get back on track. And I hope all goes well with the baby.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwww. There there. Actually, I didn't watch it. I listened to it on the eurosport website. Not quite the same, but it'll do. I wonder if the English or American eurosport do an audio broadcast online as well? In which case you could always listen to that

Don't listen to him, all you'd see is rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, day in day out, no matter where you live.

Instead, I say we all move to Australia and take all the snooker players with us!

                Well done Mr Higgins!

Went to the Open mid-week, saw O'Sullivan have a shaky start against John Parrot, then saw Matthew Stephens get knocked out...Stayed around to watch Jimmy get toasted, then took our 'cloud of doom' over to Ebdon's table, where he was surprise, surprise, going going gone...

Higgins probably won because he was one of the players we didn't get to see

One thing...I did miss some features of the last year's British Open as sponsored by LG Electronics, eg snooker tables set up downstairs where you could win tickets, and the screens upstairs that showed live action as well as the scores. I'm glad the event still has sponsorship, obviously, so prob. just a minor quibble...

Totally agree with the out of the window jumping feeling. But what beautiful snooker have we seen ! What a splendid victory ! Wasn't it also because of the fact that Higgins felt a little less the pressure of the match having a part of his thoughts elsewhere ? I wish him and his family all the best in the world. Any news about Denise ?

Yes, I like your idea a little better. But even if world snooker was based in australia, the television networks still wouldn't show any!
As it is the networks are refusing to show the Ashes this season.

Do you think you could handle the Aussie heat?

That is almost.... blasphemy!! When we all have moved there, we definitely need to change that! In fact, lets just kick out everybody who does not appreciate snooker and call Australia... Snookalasia. Form our own snooker nation or something. With a secret password to enter and all.

If they'd just axe all those stupid "reality" tv shows, there would be plenty of room for snooker coverage.
Though, i must say, i am getting excited. In two days I finally get to see a match on tv (first time in months!), i don't know from when, or who is playing, but atleast i get to see some snooker!

What the world really needs is a dedicated cue sports channel. Our bodies would be fused to our armchairs!

With Higgins finally winning after 3 years it must be a massive morale booster. Maybe this is just the self encouragement he needs to take it further and keep on winning?

Same for the BBC. I guess the silver lining for him is that now he can just lean back and wait for baby Higgins II to come. Although I agree with him when he complained about the ridiculous schedule - British Open has barely finished in Brighton and already are they rushed over to York for the UK championship, and then there's a big gap til January. Doesn't make sense.
