Oh, I so totally agree !!!... Concerning the excessive talk about the
(in)famous plan B, I mean. I don't really agree that he will get to become world champion though. Not with Maguire around. And others like Ding ( once he solves the emotional & focusing problems). To say nothing of Ronnie. Hard times, I think, for Hunter.

Just come back from my day trip to the Welsh Open. Saw John Higgins and Ken Doherty walk right past me to the car from their practice (gaped and stared in shock without any inhibition ), and David Gray walked up the stairs next to me. Thought Ronnie's towel stunt was a bit disrespectful of Ian McCulloch, and I am not sure he deserved to win with this attitude. Oh well. Maybe Anthony Hamilton will do some damage.

Am really sorry to hear this forum is closing down, by the way

              * Well, if we all want the forum to go on, lets come visit and post ! It's up to us all, isn't it ?!...
              * I didn't like Ronnie's stunt either and what he said after the game seemed quite impertinent too. One more wasted opportunity to shut up... quite like him, isn't it ?!...
              * It's 18.00 (GMT) and 4-4 ! What a game! I still cannot make up my mind whith which one to side !!!... ( But as my family has Scottish roots, it's probably going to be Hendry, even if that snooker Ronnie made behind the black ( in the semis ), was absolutely fantastic ! Simply BEAUTIFUL.

HEY, I'm sorry I didn't know I was looking at you !!! You should have given us forum-people a 'Hi, I'm Chrisdebag-sign !', something... No kidding : didn't you feel the truly 'material' pressure ? And : was it so warm or it was the same pressure that made Hendry sweat ?

Thought so - about being warm I mean. I am glad for you ( and envy you ) for having been there. Whose was the bigger fan-crowd, Ronnie's or Stephen's ?

Silly me ! It's only now that I notice your location !!!... I am so sorry about Mark J. having to leave early at Newport. I didn't suffer very much, I must admit, for Matthew Stevens, Ryan Day or Dom Dale, but I really wonder whether or not Dennis Taylor was right in his exasperated remark about him !!!...

Come on, Mark is going to be only 30 this year - just like Ronnie. He's still young and deserves our faith in him !... If not when he has to face the worst crisis of his carreer then when ?!... He can still win. With all these cold showers he will certainly 'wake-up'. But perhaps, more than cold showers, what he needs is some victories. As the one he got yesterday when he beat Steve Davis 4-2 in the Premier Snooker League !... Well done, Mark !

Williams seems to have a worrying problem of missing easy pots when he's looking like he's flowing which can only be a mental thing rather than technique. A few wins under his belt is all he needs methinks.

I post in this thread because I was wondering if anyone saw the Williams v Ali Carter match on BBC2W? The turning point in that match was one of those entertaining moments:

Black ball game, Williams is 7 points in front. Faced with white and black on opposite length of the table cushions, he decides to go for the long double into the yellow pocket played so as to stun the white along the cushion in case he misses. The black rattled in the jaws and finished up in the middle of the baulk cushion. Carter then thought "I'll show him how it's done" and tried the same into the bottom left corner pocket, missed by quite a way and the black went side cushion, bottom rail and diagonally straight into the green pocket.

Respot: Williams won the toss and put Carter in. Williams sometimes goes for the chip into the bottom corner or the double, both of which are risky but for some reason doesn't fancy either today. Carter then steps up and proceeds to double the black into the yellow pocket as if to prove to everyone that he can do it. Carter went on to win 5-4.

Watching it live, one got the feeling exactly what was coming up as soon as Williams put the other man in
