Did nobody think of the time it would take Kachaiwong to get a visa?
Did nobody think that qualifying rounds in Wales for an event in China is slightly stupid?
Do some WSA board members think Thailand is somehow a part of Europe?

Can you imagine at the end of the season, if Kachaiwong, Michael White or any of the Chinese players just miss keeping their tour place? All because of WSA stupidity.

for a long time now the people running snooker have been a little on the slow side! - if there has been a trick going they have missed it!! - any chance to promote snooker they avoid as they desperately try and drive the sport underground. think about it like this, if you are in the top 100 players at golf or tennis you will earn more than a million a year for sure whereas in snooker you might need to have another job! - yet i would bet more people play snooker ! - andy murray made more money last year then any snooker player has ever made in a whole career in prize money.

Five withdraw due to their visas. You have to laugh especially seeing one of them is Issara Kachiawong whom the WSA chose instead of Vincent Muldoon, well at least Muldoon could have played! Another shambles however a few of these players may get wildcards anyway.
Sorry to keep going on about the wildcards - but surely this is relevant here too.

Wouldnt these 5 be exactly the players who would be getting a wildcard later on anyway ?? So they dont need to qualify anyway ??? Theres quite a bad lack of info about all this.

Fair point, but isn't it the case that if you fail to qualify and later receive a wildcard, you don't get the ranking points for the tournament? You only get the points up to the stage where you lost in the qualifiers. Didn't that happen to Ding when he won the China Open against Hendry? Maybe they changed the rules, though...

Sorry to be pedantic but Murray has only won $1.5 million so a lot of players have earned more than that.

            for sure Alex! lol
I was wondering since when A. Murray had won +£8M...in a year!!

To go back on he subject, I think it's really tough for young Vinny to get pushed off the Tour like that! He played really great during the EC so he was a legitimate candidate to be promoted!
And btw, Kachaiwong is back on the Tour but I thought people who dropped off weren't allowed to go back straight the immediate year after??

Muldoon declined his place to carry on his education.

And the Asian players withdrew because they are to be the Widcards in Shanghai.

I ain't backing the WSA in any shape or form but these, my friends, are the facts, from what I reliably hear...

To be fair, it appears Vincent did intend to join the tour. My sourse is very well placed to comment on the other scenario, though...

hopefully i worded this well enough - i said his earnings which were over 8 million last year even if only 2.4 came from winnings on the tour. are higher than any snooker players winnings - 8 million for hendry in 20 years. of course hendry has invested a lot over that time and earned plenty off the table - but i think my point was pretty clear and it takes a fair bit of muppetry to bother to question the value in what i was saying!!

I'm not doubting what you are saying but I am surprised that they gave a Thai player a wildcard if that is really the case.

Ben Woollaston being a perfect example of this - granted, he didn't have an excellent season, but still made it to two venues. How much money did he win?

                      £7,500

Says it all about pro snooker really.
