It's a good draw, and it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Not looking promising for Hendry! A tough group plus the pressure of him coming last, last year.

As a Graeme Dott fan I am pleased with his group as Hamilton and Carter struggled with the format last year and Holt shouldn't be too bad.

I think instead of best of 5 frames its best of 7 but don't hold that against me.

Why is it a good draw? The rest of your sentence is the understatement of the year!. I read somewhere you are a known member on 606, which I ( a member, not famous) was for a couple of years before they buried it. I hope your other posts contain more substance!

Ronnie and Steve Davis in one group again... this gives me a thought, maybe I should go and watch round robin stage in Aberdeen

That actually seems quite balanced. I don't think there is a clearly easy group there.

Any word on the Groups ones by the way?

                ?
Apart from groups 2A and 2B especially which would seem to have extremely clear favourites if you ask me. Then you have group 2G which has 4 almost equally balanced players on current form etc.

A perfect spread is impossible. But Hendry has had the worst of luck, while Ronnie and Robertson have had the best.

Thoughts - Well I think if Jimmy has been given a leg up here, I would say he's got one of the easier groups, and it could be a good chance for him to get going. But if he doesn't finish in the top two, I don't see him staying on the tour this year whatsoever. That's the harsh realities he's got to face up to if he really wants to be playing the big venues ever again. He can't carry on relying on the Premier League for that.

I'm pleased with Group D because it gives Ashley Wright a better chance than he would get in any other group - D looks quite weak. One of the first to catch my eye as being quite tricky was B, Drago, Wattana, Michael White in his first tour event and Andrew Higginson, who's late season I hope was not a flash in the pan. All in all, quite an interesting draw, but then you don't usually get to see all of these players in this situation, so it'll always be intriguing.

Also an interesting observation, the rules changed slightly compaired to last year, the head to head comes after frame difference and frame won

                      6. Should there be an equal number of matches won by two or more players, then the following criteria will determine the final position of each player in each group:
6.1 The player with the best Frame Difference
6.2 If two players are still equal
6.3 The player with the highest number of frames won
6.4 If two players are still equal, the winner of the match between the two players who are equal
6.5 If two or more players remain tied a one-frame play off will be played between the players who are equal.
6.6 If two or more players still remain tied after the one frame play off, then the following will apply:
6.6.1 Highest number of matches won in the play off, if still equal then,
6.6.2 Best Frame Difference from the play off, if still equal then,
6.6.3 Highest aggregate score from play off.

                        Scheduled play

                        Hey,

Does anyone have a list of the times and dates for the matches to be played at AECC?

Just tried phoning ticketmaster to book for a Ronnie O'Sullivan match, but they only had general info.

                        Cheers,
                        J.

It seems someone read our discussions from last year.
