Another 6-0 looks likely for the Pastry Cook at the moment

John Higgins - Ryan Day 4-2
the best news of this week so far...at the start of this tournament i didn't give him many chances but now...John's chances to qualify had changed

keep on the good work John

I would like to see John Higgins qualify. Having said that, Ryan Day is a very promising player in my opinion. When he is on, he is totally amazing. Too bad he was missing some shots. I though he might stage a comeback when Higgins missed after that 60+ run.

ye..i feared about a possible comeback at 3-0 but lucky that didn't happen...i agree with you,Day it's a very good young player and i would put him side to side with Mark Allen/Jamie Cope/Tom Ford which are all them having great talent.

As many people said....nowadays it's very hard to win a tournament with all those new young players

Day is 27, so he's not that young. He's reached 2 ranking finals but i can't see him winning one

Thank god Dott ended his 10 match losing streak. For me Graeme needs to slow down. Today he rushed a lot of safety shots which he luckily got away with and his break off shots were awful.

Breakoff shots were awful indeed. But apart from that, he played well and I am hoping the win comes very soon

Hopefully he is saving his wins for the World Championships.

                            • Ding is giving me a solid impression those last few months - we all knew he is a fantastic player but to me it seems his attitude has somehow changed for the good and his playing tactically and defensively - when necessary - on a high standard. I really have to change my opinion about him - I think he will go very far in Sheffield as well.
I saw that going differently in my mind

I had the same thought aswell today. His shot selection has improved a lot this season and he does have a favourable draw. However at 8/1 it isn't really worth it.
