I hope the ref in this one isn't accused of any bias.

        • Yes, the tournament does not interest me one bit, to be honest. Even have not seen Drago's swan song.

But it's still very nice to be able to watch Tony Drago for the last time.

Why, I am glad to see Doherty playing great snooker lately... So hope he wins this and continues to play great in Wales too

            • I also find it less exciting than ranking tournaments, but for me this isn't necessarily a bad thing. At least I then don't get that upset if the "wrong" player wins

              • Well I'm not sure it is related to the fact that it's ranking or not. The Masters and the League were exciting IMO. But ... it's hard to explain exactly ... somehow when watching I get the feeling that the players don't care too much, that it isn't really important ... except for Drago and Murphy

                Note the word "feeling" ...

                • So the next round is the Semi-Final already? Not even any Quarter finals first?

                        • Because there is nothing at stake. I compare it with international friendlies in football. Could say it about The Masters as well, but its the top 16 and has earned its status over the years.

                          • It doesn't affect me because I've got the internet, but Eurosports treatment of snooker in the UK is poor. They stopped showing the Ding/Dale match before the last frame, even though there was still 20 minutes of snooker transmission left. The tennis (yawn) they went to earlier than planned is now running late! Why don't they stop the tennis coverage prematurely just like they did with snooker? The least they should have done was to show snooker of some sort for the remainder of the schedule - like a 147 or something like that.
