  • Shaun deserves this win. He had 3 semi-finals this season, if i remember correctly, and yes, it is a shame is not a ranking event, especially for Murphy.

    • Murphy as predicted much too strong for Doherty. The score is a quite fair reflection of the level each played. The semi against Ding was far much interesting.
I saw that going differently in my mind

      • well done Shaun. im not a fan, but you played well, and even though not fantastic in the final, had too much in your locker for Ken today.

not a great final, but still been quite a good tourney IMO

        • This Malta Cup seemed an appetizer to me, prior to the main courses in Newport and Beijing and the huge cake in Sheffield. Mostly watched online, since the Eurosport's TV broadcast schedule was appaling and enjoyed (the idea of) watching snooker.
I for one think that the best thing that could have happened to this edition of the Malta Cup would have been for Drago to win it by playing some great snooker. What an appropriate farewell it would have been...

          • I really cant believe some still think Drago has something to offer on the pro tour. He is well past it and thats it!

I'm sure Drago fans know that he won't ever do well again!

              • This has been the first tournament for a while where I wouldn't rush to see the results and that is saying something. I found the January qualifiers much more exciting.

I would have made more of an effort to go if it had been a ranking event. I bet even the players saw it as more of a holiday than a major tournament.

I usually record it all when i'm at work but i didnt bother this week. And anyone who knows me knows thats not normal for me!

Back to normal this week though as i'll be recording Wales, then looking forward to friday when i go!

                      • Got to say, along with the Welsh Open, the trophy is crap. Play well all week and get given a tiny cup or a piece of slate or whatever it is.
