    Table:

Just been watching the final of todays group. Ken beat Carter 3-2. It was the first match in this new format and it was a bit different from what I expected. The standard in this match was very high - Ken had a 70 odd and 80 odd and a decent 50 break to win the deciding frame. Not forgetting Carters 143!!. There was no crowd there, very big seats for the players and quite a fair bit of money involved.

The deciding frame was worth at least £3000 as that is what each player receives for progressing into the final group (where the frames become worth £200). As for the video quality I think it could do with being improved - although this type of snooker is probably classed as a bit of an experiment for the betting companies.

In some ways it's good that more people abroad should be able to see some of these matches - but it does feel a bit awkward that it's so closely linked with gambling. There were a couple of messages stating that the livestream may not infact be live... which is a bit suspect.

Yes well done Ken - through to the Winners group to be played in May
And well done to Joe Swail and of course the others who are through to Group 3 as well - playing again in March

That there is a delay of around 30 seconds or so is perfectly normal. If it wasn't live, why on earth would they have bothered showing Ali Carter after his semi final talking to some guys, playing with his mobile phone, and picking his nose (tut-tut) instead of cutting straight to the final?

I didn't get to watch much of group 2 or indeed the final properly, why do people tend to call me during finals?

10th of March. Hmpf. That's my daughter's birthday, I suppose I should get her a snooker free day!

The reason I'm worried about the delay is that the betting companies, on markets such as the first pot, know what has happened, know what money is coming in, know what odds would be good to give out. Its all stacked in their favour.

If it's 30 seconds thats even worse.

You won't get online video without delay - no matter if it's BBC, Eurosport or bet365, there is always 10-15 seconds difference between the actual broadcast and the video stream, because the tv signal should be converted into .wmv or .flv format first. So this type of thing is unavoidable.
Yes, it may be playing in their favour, but I guess people who bet take it into account.

And well done, Ken! Not only his game was good, but he's also had the sense to wear different shirt every day
Too bad that Ali wasn't able to quaify - but well, there's always the next group.

Don't think so, I thought the bet is closed before next frame starts and is based on live from the arena. Otherwise someone could be there see whoever made the first pot and put a bet
