I tried yesterday, but it all went a bit pearshaped (that would be quite the accurate description of the resulting video, actually).

As far as I can tell it's still wide open. The results from yesterday are here, but sadly no easy table to see with a glance how everyone is doing. I'll figure it out and get back with it later.

        Latest Table
Top four advance into group semi-finals. First plays fourth and second plays third. Two winners meet in the final and the winner of that advances into the Winners Group (to be staged in May).

Losing finalist, losing semi-finalists and player fifth in the table move into Group Two, which starts on Wednesday. Players finishing sixth and seventh are eliminated from the tournament.

Hefty prizes both in the group stages and the play-offs (about 80 thousand to the winner), good atmosphere, good exposure, since it's a travelling tournament, challenging line-up...
And all of a sudden, since some couldn't adjust to the shot-clock, it's a "rubbish event" and the snooker purists are quick to label it as such.

If someone will be able to record Doherty's play-off match(es) - please please please do it. My high-speed connection has just gone out, so I won't be able even to watch it...
Damn the provider and their equipment - they couldn't find a worse time to act up

Yes, I'd be curious to read an official statement or interview of Robertson's on this matter. Until then, this is just the rationalizing of a very poor performance in The League (partly due to insufficient adjustment to the shot-clock). The League, one of the most lucrative professional tournaments.

Some of Robertsons matches from last year were really entertaining. Anyone remember his match against Hendry when he had to sprint around the table a couple of times to avoid time fouls.

Not adjusting I guess - but he still looked like he was enjoying it. I'm a little disappointed the shot clock hasn't been kept for this.

Can anyone tell me the running order for today's matches for the Championship League please?
I thought I had a link to it but I can't seem to find it now!
                        Cheers

It was indeed very entertaining, and ultimately that is what the Premier League is about. Whatever entertains Barry Hearn will be on (see interview today in the Scottish Herald - actually a rather interesting interview). Bread and circus

As for the schedule for today, here's what's on the bet365 site:

14.00 Ali Carter v Joe Perry
                          Ken Doherty v Mark Williams

15.00 Anthony Hamilton v Joe Perry
                          Nigel Bond v Joe Swail

16.30 Ali Carter v Ken Doherty
                          Joe Swail v Mark Williams

17.30 Ken Doherty v Joe Perry
                          Nigel Bond v Anthony Hamilton

19.00 Ali Carter v Mark Williams

19.30 Anthony Hamilton v Joe Swail

20.00 Ken Doherty v Anthony Hamilton

20.30 Nigel Bond v Mark Williams

Anyway. I found yesterday quite interesting, with ample entertainment and twists and turns to keep it exciting until the last group match had been played to an end. Congratulations to Ryan Day for winning the first group!

But now I start regretting that the shot-clock is not in place for this one. I like Nigel Bond, but he can be ssssllllloooooooowwwwwww...

Thanks also for the interview link!
This passage on snooker is great:
"I sat down with all the players and gave them roles, Steve Davis was Mr Boring, Jimmy White was the Artful Dodger etc. It was like a cross between Coronation Street and Reservoir Dogs. Everyone had their role, everyone was Mr Somethingorother. We were the first reality television in a sporting sense and the punters loved it."
